Job Description
The Department of Surgery (Urology) has now a number of research grants for the study of genetics behind renal stones. These projects are being done in collaboration with Mayo Clinic USA. The goal of these projects is to establish a genetic landscape of stone disease in Pakistan.
Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Research Associate, Department of Surgery (Urology)

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to supervise, monitor, and conduct research activities including patient recruitment, data collection and analysis, and maintain necessary records, create and sustain liaison with the relevant stakeholders for the smooth implementation of all necessary activities of the project. Specific responsibilities include to:
Assist the supervisor in the development of research instruments for the projects according to their objectives
ensure validity of data collected
conduct patient interviews and prepare detailed notes for it
ensure proper data collection and analysis as per the project guidelines
ensure field implementation of project related SOPs and guidelines, as defined in the research project
assist supervisors in carrying out day-to-day research work
prepare and present periodic project related activity reports
keep track and follow-up with research teams on progress reports of the project
ensure quality control by random checks and monitoring
grant writing and manuscript preparation and timely submission of the ERC and Budget documents.

Requirements:
You should have:
Masters degree in sciences from a recognized university
at least one year of relevant experience in health research
good interpersonal skills particularly communication skills
proficiency in the use of computer applications, particularly MS Office
some data analysis background (SPSS or STATA or RStudio)
ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
ability to work effectively in teams and resilience to cope-up with work pressure.
