Job Description
SECRETARY – ICAP
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP), established as an autonomous body under the Chartered Accountants Ordinance, 1961 is seeking to recruit Secretary, the administrative head of the Institute, who is expected to implement the strategic plan and continue to refine and implement the business strategy in line with the parameters set by the Council.

THE ROLE
The Secretary is the administrative head of the institute and reports to the Council through the President. The Council expects that the Secretary shall be responsible for effective deployment of the Institute’s resources to ensure operational excellence, provide leadership to transform the processes, structure, capacity and culture of the Institute.

The primary role of the position is to:
– Provide quality input to the Council for policy making and development of strategic plan.
– Implement various initiatives as per the strategic plan approved by the Council.
– Devise business plans, both short and long term, periodic budgets and optimize resource allocation.
– Drive the creation of a transparent, collaborative and performance based culture within the Institute in line with best industry practices.
– Administer as Head of Institute and responsible for overall supervision of the affairs of the Institute.
– Provide active leadership and directions to the teams working on various initiatives to ensure effective and efficient accomplishment of desired objectives.
– Ensure that the Institute’s operations and its activities comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.
– Manage and cultivate working relationships with practicing firms and industry to enhance opportunities for students seeking training.
– Manage and cultivate excellent working relationships with National Regulators, Government Officials and International Professional Bodies to enhance ICAP’s brand image.
– Act as an advocate for issues relevant to ICAP within Public and Private Sector.

THE QUALIFICATION
– Fellow member of ICAP or other international CA bodies in good standing or a postgraduate degree in Business Management disciplines.
– At least 15 years of senior management experience in a large entity or a practicing firm.
– A reputation as a thought leader in strategic development and implementation.
– Proven experience of leading and managing large teams operating at multiple locations.
– Significant exposure of engagement with National and International regulatory bodies.
The Compensation Package would be around Rs. 1,000,000/- along with benefits such as Group Health and Life Insurance,
Provident Fund and Institute’s maintained car. The Institute is an equal opportunity employer.
