The Project to understand and research preterm pregnancy outcome & stillbirth: South Asia (PURPOSe) is a prospective, observational study aimed to better understand causes of stillbirths and neonatal deaths among preterm live births in Pakistan. This study aims to evaluate the causes of stillbirth and neonatal death (<28 days) among preterm births using minimal invasive tissue sampling (MITS).
You should have:
Intermediate, however, Graduate degree will be preferred
diploma in lady health visitor/midwifery/general nursing
at least two years’ of relevant experience
good interpersonal & communication skills
good counseling and negotiation skills
willingness to work in community settings.
You will be responsible for:
screening, counseling, assessing eligibility and taking consent for participation in the study and MITS procedure
collecting specimens like blood, placenta and vaginal swabs from pregnant women
assessing the best gestational age using android application and medical record
recording data in the data collection forms
assisting in placental examination and minimally invasive tissue sampling (MITS) procedure
completing study forms and handing over the completed files to study incharge
receiving referred preterm babies from JPMC and facilitate parents/caretakers in ER
monitoring referred preterm babies in ER and NICU
completing data collection forms by extracting information from hospital medical records
managing communication between study hospitals, parents/caretakers of the preterm baby, hospital doctors, nurses and ancillary staff.
