The Mind & Brain (Neurosciences) Service Line at the Aga Khan University Hospital is home to the largest number of certified neurologists (specialized in brain and spine medicine), neurosurgeons (specialized in brain and spine surgery), psychiatrists and psychologists (specialized in mental health problems) in Pakistan. Our internationally trained and diverse team of doctors, surgeons and nurses allows the Mind & Brain Service Line to offer excellence in adult and child clinical practice and maintain the highest standards for diagnostic and therapeutic services. They lead the way in their respective fields of expertise by ensuring that they keep up with the latest techniques and technology.
Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Service Line Chief, Mind & Brain. Applications are invited only from potentially qualified internal candidates.

Reporting to CEO, you will be accountable for an overall clinical leadership of the Service Line, which includes ensuring delivery of effective, efficient, timely, high quality services in line with accreditation and regulatory requirements, support in developing the strategic plans and implementing service line goals & plans to ensure that the goals and objectives are accomplished. You will provide leadership for the implementation of changes required to operate effectively in an agile environment and will be accountable for the delivery of quality of services.
You will work in a complex environment of delivering services, research and teaching. Besides, you are expected to be aware of the responsibilities of working in the context of the governance policies of the Institution.

You should have:
an MBBS / MD degree or equivalent with suitable post-graduate qualifications with extensive leadership, managerial and clinical experience in a teaching hospital
at least 5 to 7 years of experience as Clinician with demonstrated leadership success in a medical practice setting would be preferred
ability to identify and manage critical issues and priorities
strong analytical and critical reasoning skills
high level of managerial competency for establishing and applying robust performance management systems and accountability frameworks
excellent leadership and influencing skills and demonstrable professional credibility
strong commercial and business insight, understanding the impact of operational efficiencies on overall patient care and performance targets
evidence of setting ambitious attainable targets and of leading and implementing innovative solutions, and complex change and modernization programmes designed to improve quality and services within financial constraints
an experience of working and contributing at a senior level with a proven track record of producing high quality results in the management and leadership of operations.
