Job Description
The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has more than fifteen community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.
The department is carrying out a randomized controlled trial Lactoferrin Evaluation in Anemia in Pregnancy (LEAP1) study, which will compare the effects of treatment with standard oral Iron Sulphate (FeSO4) versus bovine Lactoferrin (bLF) on Iron Deficiency Anemia of Pregnancy (IDAP).

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to:
independently conduct interviews and write-up detailed notes on interviews and observation visits
manage field work process to ensure effective use of time
facilitate meetings among the research teams and train research staff on research, interviewing and proper data collection skills
liaise with administration team for field work-related logistics
follow and ensure field implementation of project related SOPs and guidelines as defined in the research project.

Requirements:
You should have:
a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Social Sciences
at least one year of relevant experience
basic research and good interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
good command over the use of computer applications, particularly MS Office
resilience and ability to cope-up with work pressure and meet stringent timelines
willingness to work in community setting and travel to field sites.
This is a close-ended position to be based in Karachi
