Job Description

Responsibilities:
Reporting to Director, you will be responsible web related technology projects by leading a team that supports public/internal facing website and web applications of various Aga Khan University entities. This includes planning, execution and change management including all other aspects of the assign projects. You will be responsible for defining, developing, and maintaining strategy, support related procedures, standards, and guidelines pertaining to AKU websites and web applications. You will also be required to interacts with business leads and IT leadership to facilitate the assessments of new and for continuous improvement of existing Web based applications in line with support governance structure to support/supervise the operational support.
As head of Web team, you are expected to assess and assist in continuous improvement of all aspects of the team including hiring process, setting up support structures, team capacity/capability building, customer relationship management and handling of escalated issues.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
– Manage major projects from inception till operational handover
– Proper Implementation, Tracking, and reporting in lined with governance framework
– Improve management of operational issues and overall customer satisfaction
– Design a digital communications strategy for the web team
– Develop and implement special projects e.g., web visual re-design.

Requirements:
a bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or business administration from an educational institute of repute.
preferably a masters degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or business administration will be preferred.
at least 10 years of progressive experience in software development, project management or operations management of web support team.
a proven track record of implementing large scale complex projects on time, within budget and in scope.
exposure to fast paced environment and with mission-critical operational responsibilities.
implementation experience of large content management system such as sharepoint or other similar product is mandatory.
ability to utilize business opportunities, develop and improve global processes.
proven strong analytical, problem solving, and team building skills are mandatory.
ability to communicate with all levels of organization and to work collaboratively with business partners.
experience of working independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
experience of people management, budgeting and coordination will be preferred.
active listening, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
