Executive Officer – Aga Khan University – Karachi

The Medical College (MC) was established in 1983, as a part of the Aga Khan Universitys Faculty of Health Sciences in Pakistan. It attaches great emphasis to the professional, personal and intellectual development of faculty and students, so that its graduates become contributory members and leaders of society.
The programmes offered by the Medical College are tailored to international standards in curriculum, student engagement and assessment, and aim to develop clinical competence in community settings and hospitals, as well as the assessment of health and prevention of disease in communities through primary health-care programmes.

Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Dean, Medical College, the Executive Officer will provide him with executive support and undertake the following responsibilities:
overseeing the planning and roll out of the Deans highly active calendar and assisting him in prioritising his commitments
managing his travel schedule and coordinating with multiple individuals and constituencies to ensure seamless movement and assistance to the Dean wherever he travels
helping Dean prepare for his meetings and engagements by anticipating the information required, conducting background research and preparing briefs
serving as the key point of contact and information at the Deans Office for his direct reports and important contacts
supporting the Dean in building and maintaining relationships with multiple individuals and constituencies
conducting active follow up on matters arising from the Deans meetings
preparing communications for and on behalf of the Dean through email, letters and reports demonstrating professionalism, knowledge, credibility and confidentiality
serving as secretary to selected committees chaired by the Dean, effectively managing the agenda for and action items from those committees
developing and implementing operational processes to ensure effective functioning of the Deans office
undertaking special projects as assigned by the Dean.

You should have:
at least a Bachelors degree; Masters will be preferred
a minimum of five years’ of related work experience or comparable transferable experience
excellent problem solving skills – show initiative in taking on issues that require resolution or solving
the ability to demonstrate sound judgment in challenging and sensitive situations
excellent written and verbal communication in English and Urdu
strong organizational, project management and planning skills
superior interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
