Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) is seeking Faculty Instructor in the Intensive English for Academic Preparation (IEAP) Program of the English Language Program (ELP). He/She should be able to teach pre-Baccalaureate university students who need to pass the Forman Entrance Admissions Test (FEAT).
The applicant should have a BA/BS (Hons) degree, with the following subjects particularly useful:
Other major, if candidate shows potential or has English language teaching experience.
Applicants with certificates / diplomas / masters in ELT, TESOL, TESL, ELT, Linguistics or related fields will be given preference. Those with teaching experience will also be given preference.
Apart from having an excellent command of English (minimum CEFR Level C1) and the relevant qualifications, the ideal candidate should have:

Flexibility and an adaptable teaching style
Creative skills and ideas for planning practical and interesting lessons
Excellent spoken and written communication skills

Sensitivity, tolerance and patience
Typical tasks include:
Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes and age groups
Preparing and setting tests, examination papers and exercises
Marking and providing appropriate feedback on oral and written work
Devising, writing and producing new materials, including audio and visual resources
Organizing and getting involved in social and cultural activities such as departmental events and excursions
Attending and contributing to regular faculty meetings
Attending and contributing to training sessions
Basic administration, such as keeping student registers and attendance records
Giving time to students outside classroom hours
ELP faculty Instructor are expected to teach the required course loads in Fall and Spring semesters. Teaching in Winter and Summer semesters will be remunerated additionally.
In addition to classroom contact hours, IEAP teachers should provide one hour of out-of-class time daily to their students. Teachers are expected to be available in the staff room during this time.
Teachers are based in classrooms for the majority of the time but may be expected to take part in social activities, sometimes in the evenings and at weekends.
Codes of dress and behavior should reflect the cultural requirements of both the university and of the student body. A relatively formal appearance can be helpful as a sign of respect.
